Enters new referrals and /or refill prescriptions into pharmacy system in a timely manner.
Communicates all pertinent information to the authorization/reimbursement department that is necessary to obtain benefit information, authorization, reauthorization, etc.
for each patient.
Scans and files all documents in CPR
(i.

verbal orders, insurance information, etc.
) Monitors the receipt and distribution of all documentation related to patient records and other correspondence on a daily basis to insure it is routed appropriately and in a timely fashion.
Completes Welcome Call to all new patients introducing Maxor Specialty Pharmacy Answer incoming calls as assigned and as transferred Responsible for the following applicable queues in the SPRX list:
Incoming Faxes ePrescription Manager Patients with incomplete information Order entry/completion (Need RX) RX setup Rx Expiration/Zero refills Apply online at:

Responsibilities Meets performance standards and expectations.

Assists with projects as necessary.

Assists in compiling necessary reports and/or audit information as requested.

Assists in maintaining cleanliness and orderliness of the pharmacy.
Participates in the Performance Improvement/Quality Management Process.
Maintains accurate and complete patient records.
Participates in pharmacy orientation programs, training programs, pharmacy staff meetings, in-services, and other programs as required.
Exemplifies excellence in customer communications and service.
Meets performance standards and expectations.

Has a good understanding and working knowledge of all Maxor policies and procedures, accreditation requirements and HIPAA operational guidelines.
May be included in after hours on-call rotation.
Maintains regular attendance per established policies.
Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent.
College degree preferred Active Pharmacy Tech certification required
Experience:
Previous experience with patient accounts in a pharmacy or healthcare setting Understanding of insurance, prior authorization and patient benefits strongly preferred A minimum of one-year patient accounts experience mandatory Computer experience mandatory Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing, to interact with a wide variety of individuals to successfully provide optimal patient care Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Excellent verbal and written communications skills are a must Must have good mathematical skills and be able to calculate discounts and fees quickly Previous experience in coordinating patient care in an alternate site setting is a must Must be eligible for participation in all applicable State and Federal reimbursement programs.
